A Very informative Internet Marketing Blog Site by Frank Haywood

Yesterday when reading my email I came across one that said to check out he mail from Frank Haywood and go to his Internet Marketing Blog.

I checked it out and found a relevant blog entry on The Power of Blogging. In this blog entry Frank talks about someone that linked their blog with his own blog and how he went to check it out and found it to be of interest. Frank went on further to say, "The point is, if you blog regularly (at least once a day), and link to other peoples blogs, then you will almost certainly get the owner coming to take a look, and even links back and mentions like the ones above."
"What do those links mean? Traffic!"

Though this blog is on Scrapbooking Tips since it's a blog it's relevant to me. Each blogger out there wants to share something different with people and there's power in that as well as in the Internet Marketing. Our sphere of influence increases when we open ourselves to the ways to raise others awareness of our blogs. Scrapbooks are a storybook combined with pictures, embellishments, documents, and more. Scrapbooks are fun and tell a story about the characters preserved in its content. Scrapbooks are organized alphabetically and then divided into various subject headings, chiefly Performers and Plays. Scrapbooks are often embellished with ribbon or other pieces of fabric, colorful graphics, and other artwork. Scrapbooks are arranged in rough chronological order. Scrapbooks are currently a hot segment of the crafts market, but they were even more popular in the 19th century and early 20th century. Scrapbooks are is also an investment in your family and future generations. Scrapbooks are a wonderful way to treasure wedding memories or the memories of a.

Scrapbooks have been a common way of preserving not only photographs, but also newspaper clippings, pamphlets, documents, and other assorted items. Scrapbooks containing correspondence, book jackets, newspaper clippings, magazine articles, pamphlets, photographs, and miscellaneous printed matter. Use gel pens, photos, clippings, and stickers. I would say that the reason for that size is because in traditional scrapbooking, there are a lot of elements on the pages, in addition to photos (for instance: greeting cards, napkins, matchbooks, theater programs or other memorabilia or tokens, plus other embellishments) so they need to be larger to accommodate all the many possible page elements.

Material

There are so many different materials which can be used in a scrapbook. There’s lace, ribbon, embroidery floss and other fabric decorations. Materials such as membership rosters, scrapbooks, newsletters, quilt show materials, and block of the month packets are added as they are created.

Acid-Free Materials for your scrapbooks preservation

Acid-free or archival-quality paper and boxes can be purchased in standard sizes from archival supply houses or can be custom made. Acid free glues are also available and can be effective when used in moderation. Acid free/lignin free/ and pH neutral paper is best for this use. Wrapping them with acid-free paper and storing them in a protective box provide better protection for scrapbooks and albums. Placing a scrapbook inside an acid free/lignin free/pH neutral box will also protect it from the affects of untreated wooden shelves. Boxes that are acid free and buffered can be found at archival supply stores. Paper that is acid free, lignin free, and pH neutral is best for use in scrapbooks, which hold photographs and are intended to stand the test of time. There is tape available with acid free adhesive: look for the kinds that are acid free, with an acrylic based adhesive. There are also some acid free types of glue, usually polyvinyl acetate (PVA), than can be used in small quantities. Stickers might say they are acid free, but be sure that includes the adhesive as well as the paper. Deacidification spray is sold in scrapbooking stores and art supply stores and is touted by many scrapbooking instructors as a solution to all acid problems.

Scrapbooking What's it all About?

According to Wikipedia:

"Scrapbooking is a method for preserving a legacy of written history in the form of photographs, printed media, and memorabilia contained in decorated albums, or scrapbooks. Historically, scrapbooking was a tradition similar to storytelling, but with a visual and tactile, rather than oral, focus."

This is a great definition and a starting point to consider when first pondering what to collect in the beginning stage of starting a scrapbook.

It can be alot of fun to pull out the old photographs and to look through them. One of the wonderful things about the beginning phase is to get together with your extended family and enjoy time with them. "Hint" Bring over the photos that you put together and let Grandma or Grandpa take a look at them. The older people will remember people in photos that you might not have even had the pleasure to meet. In my own circumstances I've never had the pleasure to meet my great Aunts and Uncles and there families in England and regret that, however between my grandfather and my own parents they have been identified them in photos. So I feel like I know them! There's alot of power in photographs that brings back the memories and helps us to identify people we don't see much. It helps us to remember details about them even when we haven't seen them for years. These memories are imprinted in our minds and we need a way to keep the memories alive. Scrapbooking helps do just that since it's a way to collectively organize our memories so that we can tell the story visually and tactilely even after we aren't around. While we are around we can share these and have them speak for themselves. It's amazing how when the scrapbook comes out the room gets quiet till someone gets the warm fuzzies and starts recollecting things about the beautiful work you've done.
